UCBL

Model T4

Maximum control and stabilization.  Optimal for treating flat-foot conditions and preventing degeneration from other rigid foot deformities.

Features

  • Maximum orthotic control
  • Durable classic design

Details

The UCBL is the best orthotic option for patients needing maximum control and stabilization. It’s the most stable type of foot orthotic style available and is commonly used by both children and adults with flexible flat-foot conditions.

This device features a fully encompassing heel cup with medial and lateral flanges to provide simultaneous control across the Sagittal, Coronal, and Median planes. When these flanges are combined with the custom-molded arch, this device locks the midfoot and rearfoot into a neutral position, preventing any inversion, eversion, pronation, and other abnormal foot movements.

Named after the University of California Berkeley laboratories, the UCBL has been used for more than 50 years and is credited worldwide as being one of the first innovations in foot orthotic therapy.

We’ve taken the best features of the classic UCBL device and perfected them, using subortholene shells, cork rearfoot posts, and vinyl top cover for quality and comfort.

While most commonly used to treat flat-foot conditions, this device can also be used to prevent further degeneration in rigid foot deformities when modifications are made to the cast.

The UCBL is constructed with a positive model of the patient’s foot and can be modified at the practitioner’s discretion.
